Description
It started out as a simple excercise to see if I could use color and composision to draw the viewer's attention to a single spot immediately, then lead them around the picture and back. I have no idea if I accomplished it. I also tried to make the black outline work, and have no idea if I accomplished THAT, either. And of course, since this is me we're talking about, it got out of hand rather quickly. So. Much. Detail.
This was also the first image I made where the focus was on how it would look on a wall, and not how it would look on a monitor. There's a metric ton of detail and texture work I had to put into it to get it to look good at the print level. Most of that was subtle stuff. Check the larger view, as it comes through a bit better.
Technical stuff: Photoshop+wacom tablet, as well as a DAZ|Studio render as a reference for the face. I will admit I did wind up having to trace the outline for the face. Took about a week, and was pure fun.
HEAVY critiques and feedback is much desired. This was an exparament with composision and color, and I'd like to know how close I got to my goal.
To those of you inclined to critique, what was the first thing your eyes were drawn to in the picture? That'll let me know how close I came.

She reminds me of my Poison Ivy ^^
The chains could be thinner, they actually look too heavy to be easily worn without hurting the eyelid.
Nice work overall!

...damn. You're right about the eye. I also just now noticed her forehead's a little too small.

I really like the bird and the flow of the hair.
I think the face is a little flat, maybe you should give more depth to create a better illusion of form.
The face will look much better if you work on it just a little more.
Please keep sharing more of your great artwork!
